Hi My name is Stacey Sandlin, and I grew up the Mortgage Industry, so it’s kind of in my blood.

After College when it was time to get a real job, and start adulting, I jumped into the business and started as a set up girl, for one of the largest Mortgage Banks in the USA.  Think back to 1991 before email, and electronic signatures, when everything was paper and our only tool was the fax machine.

My Career went through all stages of the industry from set up to processing, underwriting, closing, quality control auditor, even underwriting bulk sale portfolios between banks. Fun fact, I actually was on the team that underwrote the first bulk sale of the original DeskTop Underwriter Pilot program – Yes I am that old!

After all my knowledge in the mortgage business I decided Loan Origination was my calling and that I could do it a little bit different.  I could be as knowledgeable as the underwriter, but sales driven to find clients.  I opened up my own shop and hit the 1 million dollar income mark in 5 Years. Let me tell you it was not easy and there were days when I made mistakes, and days I was tired, but in the end it was all worth it.

Through my journey, and after the 2008 melt down, I got married to a professional basketball player, who played in the European Basketball League and convinced me to go to Europe.  During our ten years in Europe I did consulting for some of the biggest banks in the USA, Audits and Bulk Sale underwriting, and I was part of the Licensing Conversation on many levels.  I was recruited by Kaplan University to write, both their online and live class mortgage licensing class in Denver and was their lead instructor for Mortgage Licensing as the Licensing mandates took effect.

In 2018 My husband Retired from Basketball, and we returned full time to the USA and landed in Las Vegas.  We didn’t know a sole, but luckily through my old connections in lending I was offered a Loan Origination job for a great Mortgage Bank, and off I went.  My First Year back at it I made 6 figures, and have doubled my income each year since then.  Don’t get me wrong, I had some catching up to do as things have evolved and changed.  However, this is when I realized the true lack of training – not licensing but training in the industry.  That is how Mortgage Loan Training came to life.
